It is not true. Do you think that in Veliki Ustyug nobody knows what Ded Moroz looks like?

Originally Ded Moroz wore long blue coat, but under european influence the red colour now is also acceptable. But his coat is always LONG, and Ded Moroz never has spectacles or pipe. And he never makes this strange "ho-ho-ho" sounds like Santa does. Ded Moroz has a granddaughter and has no elfes. He is more severe then Santa because his job actually not only bringing presents to kids but also causing frost and snow in winter, when he knocks with his long staff. And it's obvious that Ded Moroz has pagan origin unlike Santa.

That's because the c**ts have sold their biscuit arsed souls to the western devil. The true Russian Dead Morose wears a blue coat, period.

    Exactly. That's the fundamental difference.

    Hmm, well said...

All the references I read said he wore blue too.

Then again, the original Santa Claus didn't wear red either, that was just American advertisement of Coca Cola in the 1930s, believe it or not.
Please correct any Russian language mistakes I make.

What link reference? I'm a native Russian speaker, I know what I'm talking about. I've seen more Dead Morose blokes than you can shake a stick at.
