Yes Zhanna and VIA Gra and Blestyashchiye, and the like are just pretty girls who get their cleavage out and dance a bit to meaningless pop ditties. But at least the music is fun; and these stars are in no illusion that they are proper musicians. I'd rather listen to VIA Gra and feel happy than listen to Nightwish while cutting my arms. Life for many, if not most Russians is difficult (financially, health-wise, etc.). Happy, colourful cr@p TV and the music they show on it (e,g, Subbotnii vecher) keeps the suicide rate down, to putit bluntly.

You are right, mate. Everyone chooses what to watch and listen to on the basis of their own preferences. However, singers and any music performers for that matter like Friske firmly believe that they are super stars and that they have a very good voice indeed. It is ok, I think, since it is business as adoc has already pointed out. What I don't like about music perfomers such as Friske is that they have zoomed to pop stardom not through their talent but through their close relations with producers and other influential people within Russia's music industry. There are umpteen very talented home musicians across Russia but they cannot reach the same level of popularity as Friske because they simply don't have sufficient funds to do so. That's a very disgusting thing about the music industry here.

It's a term of endearment, girlfriend; and I do have self-discipline, but sometimes people deserve being rude to. If your nice to everyone what's the point?

That, and I still can't believe that she's not from VIA GRA -- but I suppose I'm wrong (and there were like 1.3 billion members of that group -- that's right, the entire Chinese population participated at one point or another, I think).

Ah. OK, this would explain Saakashvili's rise to power then -- in an effort to join Ukraine and Belgium in NATO, he conspired with Meladze to undermine Kuchma and poison Yushchenko and Litvinenko. They didn't get Yeltsin drunk however; he was able to do that on his own. Oh, and they killed Kennedy with laser beam technology on loan from aliens.

Yes. So essentially, if you're Ukrainian you're screwed. But Tymoshenko is the exception rather than the rule, since Obi Wan Kenobi is on her side.

"her" is Zhanna Friske. That's the picture of today's singer in that band (where Zhanna Friske was). Btw, she (Anya) is also former Russia's figure skating Championship winner. Can you imagine? With such bust?
