    Help me identify this book

At my university they were getting rid of old books they don't want anymore. I found this really really nice brown leather book from 1988.

I don't really know what it is about though.
Firstly it's Belarussian. I didn't realise this until I had a proper look when I got it home. It has got lots of old Russian in it, with Russian translation below. But then sometimes there are bits translated into Belarussian.

    On the spine it says:

    ФРАНЦЫСК СКАРЫНА
    ЭНЦЫКЛАПЕДЫЧНЫ ДАВЕДНIК

And on the inside cover it says:

    БЕЛАРУСКАЯ САВЕЦКАЯ ЭНЦЫКЛАПЕДЫЯ
    (Belarusian Soviet Encyclopedia)?

    ФРАНЦЫСК СКАРЫНА
    I ЯГО ЧАС

It does seem to be some kind of encyclopedia, but everything seems to be about Belarus'

    I found this on Wikipedia:

Francysk Skaryna (or Skoryna; the first name also spelled as Francis, Franciszak, Frantsiszak, Francisk, Frantzisk; Belarusian: Францыск Скарына (Франці́шак Скары́на)) was a Belarusian famous for being the printer of the first book in an Eastern Slavic language. He was born in the historical Belarusian city of Polatsk. The exact dates of birth and death are unknown; the two most probable estimates are 1485 - 1540 and 1490 - 1551. Skaryna graduated from the arts faculty at University of Krak

    Франциск Скорина

The language of Skorina/Skoryna/Skaryna is properly called Ruthenian, that is, pre-Belarusan and pre-Ukrainian—although Skaryna worked exclusively in Belarusan ethnic territory.

If that's not confusing enough, the title page of Skoryna's Bible reads Біблія руска.
