Thread: Yury Luzhkov < am I allowed to post ?

This may be of intrest to many people who live in Russia but mainly in Moscow. There has been a series of programes aired in England with the title "Russian Godfathers" the last one was shown just now 21.00 GMT.

Would it be ok to tell you the impression as a native English person I got from watching this programe it is not often much is said about Russia and to an extent it is really a country that is somewhat forgotten in terms of international news, even though Russia is one of the largest countries in the world, I think due to politics and policy adopted by the English goverment towards

I thought I had better ask before posting as dont want to break any rules. If an admin or someone who has the authority to make a decision as whether I can post or not I would apprecaite it.

Or if needed I will gladly delete this post

I think it's quite OK, we even have a special politics section for that. Of course posting something concerning politics might (or might not) provoke heated debates, but that's another question and that's unpredictable. Actually I think that what you are going to do completely fits the description of that section.

Sorry, David, but I can't understand, what is you question? Whatever it is, you are completely free, I think, to ask it here (or in "Politics" section).
BTW, I'm living in Moscow, and, as I can remember, always voted for Luzhkov.

I guess he's deliberating with himself whether he should spring on us some "horrifying truth" about the peaked-capped dude, some shocking facts he thinks we don't know because the media in Russia is oh so corrupt and the only way we can learn about our plotician's shameful deeds is from those objective Western papers. Why not let the laddie post it and watch him have his head kicked in? This is going to be fun, comrades

Well, I'm not clear wether Russia is somewhat forgotten in terms of international news or it is forgotten BY international news makers? All Western media look upon other countries and themselves as on animals in a zoo. They'd better cover somewhat from Animal Planet's themes. So, I don't enjoy the fate to play the role of a monkey in their zoo of media or a bear that is always walking down Russian streets. May be it's really ok, that Russia is not presented in Western news.
