I think it's really nice reason to learn Russian.
My wife is Russian too but I'm Ukrainian. We live in Russia and sometimes go to Ukraine for a while. She can't speak Ukrainian and doesn't want to learn Ukrainian although she understands Ukrainian clearly.
Well, perhaps I should brush up on my Ukrainian, too...
Most of my wife's extended family lives in Ukraine I'm sure I'll end up visiting sometime.

More and more I am convinced that Russian wasn't the best choice for me. I should've studied something more useful. But if you're interested in the culture it would help.

exactly! there's a lot of people appear to say "I want to speak russian cuz bla bla .. its kewl" most of them end up with a dozen of words and a slight idea of grammar (excluding exceptions like you and a few others), and bored with all these. Most people quit when it turns to be just a boring work. That's what I meant "losers". I'm not an exception.

    you're right!

i started to learn russian at university because of dostoevskij and when i understood how difficult it is i would run away and cry.
    but i didn't give up.
so here i am. i know a little russian, i wonna improve it as much as i can.
    sigh!
i've to say, i'm italian so a difficult grammar doesn't scare me so much, even if russian one is The Chaos.

It's NOT the chaos - it's just a lot complicated boring stuff to remember. And it most likely would not help you to pay your bills. (But... italiani... )

    A) I think you Russian is a little bit better than a slight idea of grammar, don't be so hard on yourself. You are not a loser I mean you are in Siberia!
    B) I don't think anybody who at least makes an attempt to learn another language can be considered a loser. I'd consider those who don't even try to be closer to the loser-realm than those who do.

итальянцы не логичны и не практичны поэтому у них в гуманитарной области всегда всё лучше получается

I think Alware is just trolling. He provokes people so that he can get attention and people would acknowledge his existence.

Goodness knows, russian market is being grown so it becomes more and more interesting.

As for loser (with your definition), it's me. I've started to learn english many times and I hope this time is last time.
Could you correct my mistakes, please.
