GMail has a Russian interface. I have 99 invitations, so if you want to have an account on the greatest mailbox I have ever seen, ask me.
My English isn't so good, зато с русским все в порядке ))
I'll be very thankful, if you correct my mistakes.

I have all of them: nsk, rambler, list (one of the Mail.ru servers). Equally good.

    I prefer mail.yandex.ru
they even DELETED it simply because I did not log on since January
AFAIK this is the case with all free e-mail services. You've got to log at least once a month (on some services even more often - once a fortnight...).

I don't use Russian mail, but if I did it would probably be www.mail.ru.

I had problems with Mail.ru. It's blocked by some servers because of the massive spam traffic from it's users. Or you can discover that all your mail.ru correspondens goes directly in the spambox.

YAHOO! has a interface in Russian out of the Americas. I know that using the standard set up, YAHOO! is also not cyrillic- friendly. Gmail is cyrillic friendly.
I would recomend getting one of the free local ones that people use there. I once had an account out of the UK, interesting story, so I know what it's like finding email accounts in other, foreign places. I have seen a lot of people with yandex.ru. How are they?

I haven't yet gotten used to gmail. I tried it. But I've been a hotmailer for so long I don't know how to start using anything else.

I like gmail. It's not Russian mail service though. I used to use mail.ru. I used it for about 5 years. The reason for it is simple - it's Russia's premier free email service and many believe it's the best one.
