Thread: What Does "оля" Mean?

I came across this word in my book, I went to look for it in the russian dictionary, and it isn't there. Heres an example they used.



ты оля?
да, я оля.
ирина александровна твоя мама?
да, она моя мама.

What does it mean? I know the name is Irina Alexandrova. and "dah" is yes and "onah" is she and "mama" is mom. But I'm confused on the rest.

Оля is the short name from Ольга.

It's a name - it should be Оля.
