What do you do to keep from forgetting Russian?

Well I assume most everyone here actively studies.. I had a Russian tutor about 2 years ago but I never really kept up with my Russian. Im curious as to what you guys do to keep the language fresh in your mind. Ive been listening to a small collection of Russian cds that I have and watch the occasional Russian movie (when I find one). There are very few Russians in my town so being able to speak to someone is a rarity. I'm a full time student and I work full time so seriously studying the language would be rather difficult for me. So anyone know of any word a day in Russian or anything cool like that?

Tell her that's for a good cause.

Back to serious stuff, the only way not to forget smth is to refresh it regularly. You're watching movies, that's good, but you should dust off not only your listening skills, but reading/writing and speaking as well.

Try to read something in Russian every day. No need to shedule special time for that: if you read news regularly, begin to read it in Russian instead of English, or read books in Russian if you like to read fiction (Russian books are supereasy to find on the Web).

Listening and reading are easy, 'passive' ways of using a language, don't forget about 'active' ways: speaking and writing.

You can talk to the native speakers all over the world through Skype (I think there are special sites for Skype lovers).
And write in Russian whenever you can: making a list for shopping, planning your day, etc.

The best thing in these tips is that you don't have to shedule special time for Russian, taking it away from your usual activities, just remember to use it when you see an opportunity.

Avoid Torontovka. It's full of retards who can't spell properly.

Nice to see you here, Lesleyp!

There are some nice people there On the whole though, they do act a bit like teenagers. I'll go back to lurking I did have a log on here before, but forgot it when I left for a while during the summer. Thus, I had to create a new one.

Как раз по мере того как я забываю что немногую русское я знал раньше.

    This time I was smarter.

    Будет моим именем.

Please correct my errors. I know you guys will be nicer.

Newlyweds have little time for talking. So it's not the language they'll be studying

(спасибо Leof, for getting me off the hook on that one )

They say that Russian men are the best cooks... What I can say is that it's not about me... I've never had an interest in cooking.
