Thread: What is the best book for learning russian for a beginner?

    I mean if there is any member on this forum who would like to give us a sort of 'formal' lesson. Maybe with certain amount of structure / schedule and add value on to the study material. I would not mind paying him or her for that. If there is a volunteer for that so much the better. I am that desperate!!

    I like the idea of a virtual class that meets on a certain time as this will instill some discipline in me. Our mentor can give us some homework assignments to be discussed at the following session. It's ok if we can't make it to every class as the discussions would still be there for later referrence.

    i bought the oxford take off in russian book which comes with 4 cd's and i would definetly recomend it.

    i bought it from amazon but it might be cheaper in other book shops or online stores.

    Ah. I went on holiday and completely forgot about this thread! I thought it was a great idea to try and work through it together etc, and perhaps have a thread specifically for it...in fact I will go and open one now.

    That's wonderful. Hope you can coin some interesting and catchy title so that it can generate some interest for the Princeton stuff. I'm keeping my fingers cross.
