    Heeee, vodka sucks. Generally.

As I know, Finns always travel to St.Petersburg and buy boxes of russian vodka, which is very expensive in Finland. this way they get it.

Stolichnaya and Moskovskaya are pretty readily available here, even in some supermarkets; Krepkaya is harder to get hold of, but possible....

But it has become more difficult to find Russian vodka here than, let's say, ten years ago - a Russian restaurateur told me he was having trouble getting it wholesale.

    Maybe too much demand?!

In New Jersey I used to be able to get Moskovskaya but I don't see it anywhere. Fortunately Stolichnaya is no problem to find.

    Is it manufactured in Russia?
I ask because we have many foreign brands of beer manufactured here in Russia, and most of them are tasteless s%it compared to genuine imported products (but cost several times less). So it is very likely that if the production is "outsourced" in that way, the product will have little in common whit what it's supposed to be.

It's the same in most places.

Foster's is well known to be Australian beer. But the Foster's one buys in the UK, is brewed in the UK and tastes quite different that that bought and brewed in Oz.

Yes Moskovskaya was made in Russia. It tasted very good. Can't find it any more though.

Foster's here in NJ is brewed in Canada. Can't say if I ever had the one brewed in Australia.

Say - in the U.K. and Russia are there Outback Steakhouses? Any other countries have it?

The best vodka I've ever had is "Оша". I doubt you can find it outside Russia. Moskovskaya and Stolichnaya are OK, comparable with Absolut which is a Swedish brand.
I've got a TV, and I'm not afraid to use it

    I see only McDonalds around.

It's made in my hometown, Omsk And their beer "Siberian Crown" rules.

i tried russkii standard in russian and thought it was awful. I don't know if the stolichnaya outside of russia is proper russian, but its the best.

Mind you, with poland in the EU now, Chopin should be more available.

I've never used them but in the USA they ship to some states:

Check the shipping policy for states they ship to.

Since soviet times SojuzPlodExport (or whatever its descendant is called today) has an excusive right to export Stolichnaya and Moskovskaya to US. Unfortunately, SojuzPlodExport's Stolichnaya and Moskovskaya are not the best Russian vodkas. They are not even good.

Vesh - it's probably a matter of taste....
I once had a Russian swearing to me that Russkij Standart was the very, very best there was, so I tried it - and I quickly switched back to Stolichnaya.....
Again, maybe the versions you get in Russia are different from the export ones?

My favourite is still Krepkaya, but I am yet to meet a Russian who knows it.... although it is from the same exporters as of Stolichnaya....
