Lots of people sign up to ask one question like "how do I write my name in Russian", or: "my Russian bride has divorced me and now I am spying on her, can you translate this private e-mail she sent one of her friends?". Once they get their answer they leave.

I'll bite. I joined the forum because I originally had some questions (homework issues). However, I answered them myself before my registration was approved/validated. I haven't posted because I haven't had anything to add, or any questions.

And the fact that I don't understand much Russian yet...

Aha! Gotcha! Insight from a "dead user" himself!!!

This is the problem, mr MR himself has to approve/validate the users before they can join. The wait itself turns away thousands of would-be members, because on internet you expect everything to be done in a click! Who knows how long it takes mr MR to activate?

Actually, I would be a dead user "herself".

I'm not intimidated by the people, since I'm on several other boards and have seen all sorts. I'm intimidated by all the Russian on my screen! Elementary Russian can only take you so far, but I'm trying dagnabbit!

Dogs may sleep. Why inactive users here must be eliminated? Is it forum for learners or not? They probably come from time to time and read posts for increasing own knowledges and rarely ask for information they didn't get himself. This forum serve for it. And it would be a big mistake to delete them from the forum. Dixi.

You don't need to register for simply browsing the forum. Any guest can do that. Besides, there must be some stats that register whether of not a user actually comes here on a regular basis. What's the point in keeping users whose last visit took place several years ago?

Yes I know that this forum might be browsing by guests. But if they are registered here, they had the reason, aren't they? Guests aren't able to receive PM, and many other things, a part of them are coming but don't post. How you want to define?
And no one guarantee you they won't back soon...

I repeat - there must be some stat that shows how long ago a registered user actually came here. If his last visit was several years ago he's no longer with us anyway.

Admin know it better us there are ways or not... And as you can see before, he against deleting users
