Man steals bridge in Ryazan... could it be one of the forumites?

Никто не сознается)
For the record, it wasnt me!
Why do I have this feeling that it might just be Kalinka :?:
It would be smart, having stolen the bridge, to start asking questions about it to divert possible suspicion from oneself and pretend innocent :!:
First, that boat in Oslo, now this bridge. It's not funny anymore :!:
We must do something about it before it's too late :!:
Hi, net surfer!Quote:

Nice to have you back with us :)
Alexei, you did it! I mean, you're here again. :) Will you stay or will you go now? :D
My prime suspicion was on you, actually, mr. so-called net surfer!!! I knew you would sooner or later try to play innocent! Now admit it, you have a bridge fetish which you can not control!!!Quote:

Surely there are easier things to steal in Russia?
Привет, net surfer. Где пропадал, алиби есть?
WAIT-
SOMEONE TOOK DOWN A BRIDGE?!
And then sold the metal?!
Whoa, that is bizarre. :o
The money is good though :mrgreen:Quote:

This story has ended when one of them jumped from a moving train and broke his neck.
I believe DDT's version makes sense.
My deduction is that Kalinka and net surfer plotted to steal that, now legendary, bridge but then, after they pulled it off, there occurred a split between them. Cunning Kalinka managed to escape with the plunder leaving net surfer without his share.
Then Kalinka begins this thread in an attempt to dispel suspicions. And what happens next? Lo and behold, there appears net surfer! He's obviously going to claim his share. He probably starts to blackmail Kalinka.
Kalinka has no choice. He's desperate! He goes after his former accomplice! Kalinka captures net surfer and locks him in a secret location. That's why we haven't heard anything from net surfer since his sudden appearance.
Give in, Kalinka! It's no use holding out! You still have a chance to make amends, to reform!
I will not admit anything. Net surfer lives in Ryazan, so it must be him! You have no proof it is me, so it is all speculations! At least we have circumstantial evidence on net surfer !
It's not him, he sounds like a lawyer.
Argh, looks like it's going to be harder than I thought.
Ok, Kalinka, will you admit committing this atrocious crime in cold blood off the record?
We won't turn you in! Come on, say it!
Ok guys. In fact I'm serving a 3 year sentence in Edmunds Hill prison (Suffolk UK). I tried to steal the forum building in Norwich to sell all the glass it's made of. But I was caught and got in prison. The other day I was told that some Norwegian guy turned me in and now I'm trying to figure out who it could be. Anyway I've been here since April this year so I think it's a pretty good alibi, isn't it?
As for how ofter I'll show up here, I don't know if they'll keep letting me use that computer class in the library. Oh well, we'll see soon.
And I'm glad to see you all too :)
Some people! 8)
I am sure it was a Swede somehow involved in this.
Alas, my original theory didn't hold water. What a setback :(
However, when you think about it, Kalinka may not have actually stolen the bridge himself but I bet he was the mastermind behind the crime, who mapped it out ingeniously!
So, Kalinka, don't hurry to dance around the table just yet. This time you managed to bring off a daring affair and get away with it but you may not be so lucky next time. It's too early for you to relax. Make sure you are on your toes for I'll have my eye on you. One wrong move and you may wind up in all sorts of trouble
I'll pull out all the stops to facilitate justice!
Every new post, Vadim, is making me think that you train your English as much as you can.
Да, у меня возникло похожее чувство - прямо шпарит!Quote:

Mind you, that does not necessarily mean Kalinka is innocent :!:

Net Surfer (WB  ) - you should have gone to Rome and nicked the Coliseum instead! Pieces of wall are a good asset (see also sales statistics of "Berlin Wall" in 1989 - and don't forget that the NYSE is on Wall Street...). And now that it's one of the Wonders Of The World, it'd bring in much better money than glass. Also, the Roman carabinieri are too busy looking good to catch coliseum thieves......
As for Kalinka..... friends, friends! Let not our minds be clouded by prejudices....... I, personally, go with the Swede theory as well.
You see, the motive wasn't money, but jealousy! This Swede was blinded with jealousy, because his mighty and glorious neighbours, the Danes, have built a bridge from Denmark to Sweden. He also wanted one from Sweden to Denmark! Pure ego! That, and of course, it would make it easier for him to go and get drunk in Copenhagen on weekends..... :?
PS: Вадимчик, I fully agree with the others - your English is absolutely excellent. Probably better than that of many native speakers!
BabaYaga, I already stole and sold a big piece of Berlin Wall but shh no one should know it. And NY is my next destination! Oops, seems I said too much...
Thank you, although I suspect "absolutely excellent" is an exaggeration :)Quote:

unfortunately, that's the exact order one usually develops proficiency in a language; reading, writing, and then speaking.
Thanks BY! My knight in shining armor! Well, I should paraphrase: my witch on a shining broom! The logic of a Swede's mind is very complicated and sometimes isn't even present! You can always blame the Swedes... and Net Surfer, sometimes both.Quote:

I dont know whats wrong with me then. I have no trouble actually speaking it (though not without prompt for some time until I have remembered it) but the reading and writing bit is what eludes me! :?Quote:

On monday, october 16th, train traffic came to a standstill in the small kingdom of Belgium, when wrongdoers had cut one of the main train power lines in an attempt to steal it. In the process, they created a humongous short circuit, which left the poor people of Belgium without public transport for hours.
Though police first thought the criminals wanted to steal the line in order to sell the copper it is made of, following tips from an unknown Norwegian person and and an anglo-russian glass thief, the perpetrator is now believed to be the infamous Swedish Bridge-Thief (allegedly related to the Swedish Cook), who clearly wanted to use the line to run a train over the bridge he pilfered earlier.
The authorities are at this point urging the public to be vigilant. Any suspicious swedish-looking people, loitering around around the Chunnel should be reported immediately, as it is believed an underwater tunnel is next on the criminal's wish list.
Some people indeed!
W.o.W. :o
Wha... :o Is it is it TRUE? Or you're kidding us! :D
*LOL* - no, no, it's true enough. :lol:Quote:

Lots of cars on the road today....
I thought there are no crimes in Belgium at all...excluding kidnapping.
I was sure that the copper hunters exist only in the former USSR area! I am surprized they appear in Western Europe too. Perhaps it is a natural migration - they stole everything here and have no more copper to earn for living. So they just went to the West? like Celts or Hunnes.
