    Russian literature in Russian

Does anyone know of any good on-line bookstores selling Russian versions of classic literature, that ship world-wide?

You can find loads of Russian literature in Russian online at www.lib.ru

It's really good, they even have long stuff like Crime and Punishment.

I used Petropol, which is based in the US (MA?) and they were decent enough; I got everything in good condition, but it was a bit slow (to be fair it was in the middle of the holidays though). You'll probably save on shipping as well as be a bit safer in using US based stores. There's another one called Ruskniga, but I haven't used them, so I don't know about quality/trustworthiness.

Заранее благодарю всех за исправление ошибок в моём русском.

    recommendations?

I have read a lot of the Russian classics of the 19th and early 20th centuries, but would like to try something really new. Can anyone recommend any good authors of serious novels or short stories that are highly regarded in Russia at the moment?

    speed reading

Yes, and having devoured the classics (actually it took me about 6 years to read just a selection of the great writers) I am now hungry for some contemporary writing.

I see what you mean. I myself sick of classics (they made us to read too much of boring things at school). I'm not much of a reader, I'm much more a movie guy :) so I can't suggest you something to read.

I think books by ЮЛИЯ БОЛЬШАКОВА are pretty well regarded:
