    Pickled tomatoes

What do I do with pickled tomatoes? I would like to try them in a manner where I might actually be able to eat them, I don't like tomatoes much. My Russian friend's mom made them and he gave them to me to try his mother's cooking. I would like to be able to tell him I at least tried them next time I see him.

ps- These are pickled cherry tomatoes. When I google I find recipes for pickled green tomatoes, but not cherry.

In general pickled tomatoes in Russia are ready to be eaten without any specific or additional cooking.

P.S. regarding your signature: it would be more natural and smooth if it reads "Кристина *мама*"

I think the best way to eat them is with boiled potatoes. Usually we eat pickled tomatoes, cucumbers and mushrooms (they are called разносолы) with potatoes. Like there: f6edd1a910.jpg

It's a good compliment for vodka (along with other stuff, by the way). I'm dead serious.

We had boiled potatoes and sour cream tonight with those tomatoes. The tomatoes are super spicy! Isn't there some way to make a sauce out of them or something? I don't think eating them whole is for my family. Would it be rude to call my friend and ask him how to eat them?

Usually Russian families have their own recipe to cook pickled tomatoes)) Some of them love spicy)) Mother of girl, who was my friend in school, jarred really spicy vegetables) I couldn't eat them because they were incredibly spicy. But her family ate them with bread every meal When I was finished school this girl got gastritis.

I think it'll be OK if you ask your friend about the best way to eat tomatoes))) May be his family have their own way to eat them too))

I remember the first time I saw them. I thought they were so gross and would not even try them. Now, I can not stop eating them! I know a lot of Russians and they simply eat them with bread. That's how I eat them too.
