    Moscow

Well, the time has come, and i'm going to be landing in Moscow in two weeks. At any rate, I was wondering if anybody was familiar with the moscow internet cafes. Specifically I wanted to know if they allow you to bring in a USB jumpdrive or memory card reader to upload pictures to the internet. I've been in and around them before - but never needed to do this.

The reason i'm asking is I would like to set up a Picassa account with all of my pictures from Moscow (I'll be there for about 5 months). I won't have a computer of my own, and was wondering if they would allow me to bring my camera into the cafe to upload photos to the internet.

BTW, if there is anybody on this forum is in Moscow and wants to meet up, let me know.

    tdk,

I should be there within the next five months sometime. I'll give you a shout when that happens. Enjoy your time in Moscow.
If only you could see . . . what I have seen, with your eyes.

    Personally never been, but:

TIME ONLINE INTERNET CAFE - There are 200 computers, it's located right in the city center, next to the Kremlin & Red Square. The internet cafe is opened 24 hours a day. It's possible to copy data to the disks, cdroms, zip drives, print out your things, scan pictures, take a photograph on digital camera, copy from a flash memory card to the web or cd rom. There's a cafe that sells coffee and healthy snacks. English speaking staff.
One hour of internet access costs $2, special overnight rates are available.
    Credit cards are accepted.
Address: "Manezh trade center" - Manezhnaya ploshchad. Phone: (095) 363-0060. Internet: http://www.timeonline.ru Area: Tverskaya, metro Okhotny Ryad (red line), just outside the exit in Manezh underground shopping mall, ground floor. Open: 24 hour a day

    No problem.

Here's the source by the way, in case you want to look up some of the others:

I'd agree that one above looks to be your best bet though.

I guess i'll have to see how far it is from my flat when I get there. *Sigh* I would have bought a new MacBook if my AC Compressor on my car didn't explode...

Don't worry, tdk2fe. You won't have any problems downloading or uploading anything at internet cafes in Moscow. But remember that the big brother is watching you.
