I've noticed that there was about 80% of all the clothes with this label here in Russia and I wonder if Chinese clothes and plastics have seized european and US markets as well? Who can say something about?

Another month ends. All targets met. All systems working. All customers satisfied. All staff eagerly enthusiastic. All pigs fed and ready to fly.
Yes, Chinese-made products can be found just about everywhere these days. It depends on the particular market and quality. Traditionally China has supplied cheap low-end products but that's not always the case and it's changing (in fact, I'm typing on a Lenovo laptop right now!).Originally Posted by Eugene-p
This is part of the reason why many countries at pissed at China for its currency manipulation. There is enough cheap labor in China as it is; artificially depressing the value of the yuan makes it even more difficult to compete with Chinese exports.
Originally Posted by Eugene-p

And it's not just stuff being sold, they buy entire companies and factories too.
This is the REAL "threat" to Europe, the US, "Western lifestyle" etc.
I have A LOT of respect for the Chinese. At the rate they are progressing and with the determination and expertise that they apply to everything they do, they'll overtake the rest of us in a decade or two.
Just download and watch the BBC documentary "Chinese School" and you'll see what we are up against.
For every job they staff, they can hand pick the brightest and best from an almost unlimited pool of applicants.
And they do not let "little things" like democracy, human rights or labour laws stand in their way if they want to accomplish something.
I can't speak for others, but we in Europe have got to do something fast, or we'll be owned by the Chinese before we "wake up"... and smell the coffee.
The fact that some clothes are "made in China" is just the tip of the iceberg.
even here in south africa its all over the place
Hanna, I only found it on YouTube (good or bad, up to the viewer, it is posted in 10 minute chunks) The girls and I started watching it last night. Very interesting so far, it really sucks you in with the personal stories of these children. Also amazing is how the head mistress can just hand out scholarships and change a child's life with seemingly a blink of an eye and very little red tape where here, you have to jump through so much red tape to even get just a little help. Example: I have to get a form completed by our doctor just to allow my daughter to have a water bottle in school! Why you may ask??? Students were filling up their water bottles with vodka so they basically outlawed them from school unless you have an official medical form from your doctor AND it must be redone every year.
I only speak two languages, English and bad English.
