Thread: Looking for some help on purchasing a camera lens in Russia.

Hello. I have been a lurker for some time on ths forum and am in the process of learning the Russian language.

I need to purchase a specific camera lens that is made in Belarus. It is the Peleng 8mm lens. (more info can be found here: http://www.kievcamera.com/product.php?ID=14 )

I am interested in purchasing one of these lenses, but, unfortunately, I dont know enough Russian to search for reputable sites to buy from.

If anyone could help me out, it would be much appreciated. I would like to repay whoever helps me, in some way. Maybe trade for some photographs or something of that nature.

Do you live in US? If yes, shipping may be a killer...

I do live in the US. There is one store that sells the lense here, but they are unreliable. I may never get the lense once I place the order.

I would actually like to purchase several of the lenses as some kind of group buy, to save on shipping. Once brought into the US, I know enough people that want them to get rid of them quick enough.

Ebay is an option, but very overpriced. The first link provided above is actually to the makers of the lens. If I could order directly through them, it could be cost-effective. I only hope that they can read english email.

I'm no help here, because live in the US too, and have no clue about lenses. I was just trying to generate any useful idea....
