Man, you are a guy full with ideas! Brimming right over! This is a good thing, don't get me wrong! who are you and where do you live?
I'm 14 and I'm from Russia, Yaroslavl.

Not exactly 30 lines, but 60 words or less.
You must know that master Freeman is a genius! He's the youngest governmental physicist and the liberator of he Earth. Ahem, according to Half-Life of course...
Did I understood it right? For example some English speaking writes:
Жили-были дед и баба ели кашу с молоком. Дед на бабу рассердился - бах по пузу кулаком! Баба тоже не стерпела: кочергой его огрела! Дед завыл, на печку сел, снова песенку запел. Жили-были...
Then the Russian one translates:
Once upon a time there lived an oldman and an oldwoman. They ate the kasha with milk. The oldman get furious against the oldwoman - he stroke her by the fist to her stomach! The oldwoman hasn't undergone this - she stroke him by the poker. The oldman cried, sat on the stove and sung again. Once upon a time...
Then somebody new translates in Russian back:
Жили некогда старик и старуха. Они ели кашу с молоком. Старик разозлился на старуху - он ударил её кулаком в желудок. Старуха не перенесла этого - она поразила его (своей игрой) в покер! Старик заплакал, сел на печь и запел опять. Жили некогда...
I like the idea!
Nonsense.
Да, ты всё правильно понял! Ну как идейка. Кто-то переводит, а другие его исправляют!
I would like to suggest a better variant.
1. MasterAdmin creates a list of participants.
2. MasterAdmin chooses a short text for translation, the text must be not well known and available through th Internet.
3. MasterAdmin sends it to the 1st player. The game STARTS.
4. The first player translates the chosen text and sends it by PM to the 2nd participant.
5. The second player translates it back and sends it to the third one, etc.
The more people, the more fun.
After that we compare the original and the result
"Испорченный телефон"? Вот уже что-то интересное, да!
Yes, but let's everyone say if he is a Russian one or a foreigner.
That would be better. PM is not so good, cause it'll be more convenient for others to see the discussion
Вот это реально крутая игра))Quote:

Why do we have to rely on MasterAdmin? Leof, you are the game master! Put a list together and start the game :!: :!: :!:
That's good idea. What about choosing the topic of the text?
как насчет аварийных посадок?
something that is tricky in both languages...
Тема должна иметь отношение к глаголам движения!
Well, it's hard to gather all it, but what do you think? Read patiently but :D
1 the head post of the thread contains the rules and does not move ever.
2 in the second post someone places the middle sized quote from the book translated in his language (if the initial quote was in Russian we know that the original was English and the same with Russian). It means that the first person did never read the original text - it allows him/her participate with others and makes to some extend as uninformed as the others. Although he/she should remember where the quote was taken, but keep it in secret until we ask to show it to us!
*If the quote was taken from the middle of any well known novel then the names of the characters should be changed into simple Mary and John or Mr.Smith Mrs.Smith or elsewhat like Иван Иваныч.
**If the first post was a piece of poetry (for example some English took a piece of Pushkin's Onegin translated in English or the Russian started with the Shakesperian sonnet from the Russian book) then nobody should care about the rhymes in their translations - just try to make your best translating.
3 the next one who participate should translate the text in the opposite language (Russian in English and, in turn, English in Russian)
4 as soon as someone notes that his version was translated, and there appiered the next post he/she should come back to his post and delete it, living three points instead of his version (or we could make it more cheerful and everytime leave some different silly short lines like: "What did he/she say? I didn't hear it  " or "Could you be so kind as to say it again in my right ear please? - it hears better")
5 everyone must remember to NOT ATTACH their signatures posting in this thread! that's and the previous point is important to cut the long story short and make our thread look tidy and neat.
6 you can post your attempt only after TWO other's versions.
7 you must delete/improve your post if you noticed or you were told by anyone else that you corrupted any rule
8 the disputes about "how to write better/with better stile or better grammar" are not allowed within the thread
9 if you noted the obvious miswrites like th instead of the or oyu instead of you or he stand instead of he stands and same in Russian you should smooth it and read normally.
10 every other mistakes and misunderstoodings should be translated literally. Do not improve the previous post even if you know the Truth. So if someone mixed any verbs or other words try to translate it in the best way you could understand.
11 the number of phrases in the quote must be CONSTANT
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The head post could be written in such way:
Do not improve the previous post even if you know the Truth!
READ THE RULES AND JOIN US!
1 the number of phrases in the quotes must be constant
2 do not attach your signature when you post here
3 don't post your translation untill the two other appiered after your last post
4 you must clean your post as soon as it was translated by anyone else and being told that you corrupted any rule improve your post or clean it
5 you must do your best translating as close to the previous text as your sense of word allows
6 never discuss the grammar within the thread
7 if you wish to add anything apart of the translation you better do not
8 if you still wish to add anything make that by PM
9 read the fourth rule again
10 read the first rule
Thank you! :D
At the end of the game all the players post there messenges!!!
Let there be the place where one could ask or say everything connected with the game - the open space for any question or dispute.
Hense. Thethread has been started!
basurero it has a lot of verbs of motion! :D
And again guys remember: needless to care about making the rhymes. Translate the rhymes like the usual text.
With the same results that could be:Quote:

I believe there's a problem with this rule because not everyone can login here in time to notice that his/her post is translated.Quote:

OK :)Quote:

One giant leap! :D
I liked the translation very much! Now somebody should translate it back into Russian.
basurero actually nobody has an idea what is going on there. Just translate and lead the rules. Nobody knows what will happen. I hope we do not corrupt any law and will not be taken to the prison doing such things.
