    Favourite drink?

What sort of beers do you get in Russia? In the UK I would say my favourite beer is probably Tiger beer which is an Asian beer but sold all over the UK. I also really like Baltika but that is only served in the posh places in the UK. For those of you who dont know tiger beer below is their website

    www.tigerbeer.co.uk

So, what's your favourite drink? I'd be interested to hear from different people from different cultures etc.

    Cheers
    Andy

    A story:

Once upon a time, CEOs of worldwide beer brands gathered together in the bar. The bartender asks each one what would they like to drink:
    (Carlsberg's CEO): Carlsberg
    (Heiniken's CEO): Heiniken
    ...
    ...
    (Guiness' CEO): I'll have Coca-Cola

Everyone looks at him with surprise and the head of Guiness answered: "Nobody ordered beer, neither did I"

There is only one drink worth drinking - vodka. Then there's brown ale which was first brewed in Russia about 700 years ago but then it was stolen from us by the Geordies.

    Ha.

Having spent a long time in Newcastle (4 years of university) I know a lot of geordies that would contest that!

Don't get me wrong - I like a good shot of vodka as much as the next one, but personally Newcy Brown just isn't for me - loopy juice as we called it back home.

I'll stick to a nice cool beer thanks

i heard baltika was being sold all over the place in the U.K now, could be wrong tho

I found a local place here in USa, and bought a few bottles of the St. Peterburg's beer, Baltika, as I recall. I thought it was quite good and comparable to the most popular US lager, Sam Adam's.
But after polonium and and thallium poisoning stories, I am less adventurous about consuming anything "different", Russian or otherwise!

    Are you sirius?

You haven't drunk Baltika in 90s. That was awful stuff.

Well, the Geordies may say whatever they like, but it's a historically recorded fact that a 14th century Russian merchant's wife Nikita Kalashnikova Pushkin brought a can of Broon to Sunderland. The Mackems didn't know what to do with it so they sold it up North to the Geordies who took to drinking it like a duck to water.

Only was? I didn't taste it for last ten years but I still remember that urine flavour. I prefer "Золотая Бочка" (классическое) or some Czech beer ("Pilsner Urquell" for instance) although I know it's taste is very far from the stuff with the same name that you can get at Prague.
Please, correct my mistakes, except for the cases I misspell something on purpose!

I haven't drunk Baltika ever since. People say that it has improved in years to the condition of somewhat resembling a real beer. I drink mostly Krušovice and Harp these days.
And when I'm in Prague I drink Gambrinus (one of my favourites among not so expensive sorts).

P.S. Funny thing I remembered. Look at the logo:

Those three waves before the name closely resemble the "E" letter.
Add E + Baltika and say it in Russian

I wrote a long reply last night, but I "timed out"...
Beer, no light "lite" beer, good beer.
Bourbon in winter, Southern Comfort 100 proof in outdoor hot tubs, Rum and tequillia in frozen drinks. Scotch and soda on the boat and alot of beer.

With all the talk of vodka in the Masterrussin forums, Modern Drunkard Magazine should write us up.

    Did I mention beer?
I'm easily amused late at night...

Pilsner, Carlsberg and Heineken are fairly popular here, but since they're twice the price of any Polish beer, Tyskie, Okocim and Lech are the ones drunk more often, especially amongst the students

As for vodka - in my humble opinion, there is nothing tastier than our good ol' Żubr

Нуфр! Тьфу-ты, то есть Yeah! Tea is the only stuff worth drinking and enjoying! Twinings is cool. I like Darjeeling most of all. And I like to pamper myself by mix of fresh carrot and apple juices. Unfortunately have no time to make it very often. In fact, my favourite drink is perhaps a distilled water because I drink not less than 1,5 litres of it every day.
