[quote=Kamion][quote=DDT][quote=Kamion]When I was younger I enjoyed reading fantasy and this was also the time when I started using the Internet, so I searched my books for possible nick names. The name Kamion is from a series of books about a boy named Belgarion by David Eddings. Kamion

By the way it's my second nick here :)
As for Pravit, he told me that there was nothing more he could learn from books/forums and there was nothing more he could do to practice here and he just had to go to Russia. I think it's true.
Ty-160 and майк disappeared as well. By the way I think I saw an N's post the other day. Chaika is still here but he posts rarely enough. And translations.nm.ru hasn't been posting for a while.

It takes a lifetime to learn a language so I think this forum will always have something to offer, whether you are advanced or a beginner. New members register to this forum and hundreds of posts are made every day. There is no reason to leave. I hope Pravit and others will return.

    I second that.

You're right but there's a point when the knowledge/practice you take from people here isn't worth the time you spend here. Because all the newbies ask similar questions and have almost the same problems. It's like taking the same course at university for a few years in a row. You hardly improve your Russian but spend a lot of time and feel bored most of the time. It doens't make sense. It's just a waste of time. Pravit had to move on and he did it. It doesn't mean he stopped to practise the language. During the years of learing Russian he probably made friends so he can practise Russian with them in person or over Skype/Google talk/etc and he can read Russian books, watch Russian movies, listen to Russian music. He just doesn't need the forum anymore, that's all. I think he won't be back, mayby just to hang out with old friends for a while but not for learning the language.

Now that I have over a hundred posts on this board (small fry compared to some others, I know ), I have permitted myself the luxury of an avatar.

    There.

Not much to explain, apart from the striking likeness - and a very soft spot for Иван Билибин .....

Did you know that she lives in the chicklegged house, she has a bone leg and her teeth are on the shelf!?

In real Yaga is the echo of the paggan Slavic beliefs. The house with chicken legs were once a kind of wooden knest - the thimbered grave fixed above the earth, where paggan deadmen were burried. She looked like a skeleton that why she had her bone leg, and the skull usually was layed nearby the other bones - that why her teeth are on the shelf.

Bilibin is one of the greatest Russian Art Noveau artists ever! He is respomsible for appearance of numerous characters. Nice choice!
    Я так думаю.

I dunno. I chose it at gunpoint. I don't like mine.

When we organize for a big name-change, I want something Russian-y. I'd be willing to take what Barmaley or BlackMage give me. As long as it doesn't imply that I'm "гомосексуалный".
