Direct TV now has Russian channels

    Hello,
Direct TV now offers Russian channels. My new dish is supposed to be installed on Monday!

Yeah, I saw this a few weeks ago. The only problem is that it costs eleventy-billion dollars (to use a fake number). Seriously though, $30 a month for FOUR channels is really ridiculous, to me at least -- especially when you consider that's on top of your basic subscription price. A better option for the average student of Russian may just be to stream the channels from Corbina (TNT, STS, REN) for free from corbina.tv -- the site has been down for a little while though; hopefully it's back up soon, b/c I miss моя прекрасная няня. I can't believe I just admitted that...
Заранее благодарю всех за исправление ошибок в моём русском.

    Thanks for info

I was on Dish Network, and to my surprise Channel One was gone just before thanksgiving! Replaced with some Center Point International...a much worse channel.

I called asking them what happened to Channel One, but they refused to say.

Well, I guess I will be a DirecTV customer soon. Channel One was my only channel on Dish Network....so no reason to stay. I guess DirecTV scooped Dish Network.

By the way, on Dish network, it was $15 per channel, plus a ten dollar access charge (minus 5 dollars if you bought RTV+ and RTVI together)...anyway do all the math, and for four channels, It was $65, and except for Channel One, the other channels were crappy.

This is really a good deal at $30 a month...(or you can still buy Channel One a-la carte for $15)
