I am guessing it costs maybe $50 to $70 per month. My DSL bill is $60 and includes regular phone service.

lol. I was just amusing myself, testing to see if any respondant knew my reference. HAL is the computer in Space Odessey 2001. Whenever the astronauts awaken, HAL is there to greet them (as of course, he sleeps not).

ADSL costs about $40 per month, depending on what you want. Of course, you can get "business" dsl with higher bandwidth for a lot more. The speeds claim to be around 500k, but you'd be very lucky to see something downloading at 150-200k. Forget about uploading, they cap the living $hit out of that so that you don't run a file server from home.
Of course, this all depends on how good the phone lines are in your neighborhood. I use cable just because coax is a lot more reliable for constant speeds.
