Не могут все думать одинаково. Даже у тех, кто живет в России, встречаются прямо противоположные мнения.

Мне трудно сейчас понять, о чем вы спорите. Ты вот обвиняешь некоторых форумчан в "непонимании", "пристрастности" и т.п. Между тем я не помню, чтобы они говорили что-то особо обидное про Россию. По-моему, даже наоборот.
Так что поясни, из-за чего весь сыр-бор.

It is clear that kalinka_vinnie is very interested in this country, its people and their language and this is very nice. I encourage him to come and discover this country, meet the people, get to know their culture.

P.S. People who stay at my hotels get to see the real Russia. I do not meddle with their brains as someone here has suggested, there's really no need for it - the wonderful organic food that they are given purges their minds of western media propaganda toxins in no time. They leave the place healthier, happier individuals and they often return and bring their friends with them.

Dobry, do you know the difference between dobry and dobrenky? Your share "rabbits" with your "friends" who "stumble" into your "camp" philosophy smacks dobrenkism, not dobrism. Wide is the gap between the likes of you and the likes of me.

PS Why are you always talking about camps and camp fires? In this country people live in high rises and private houses. They don't live in caravans (trailers for those of you across the Pond) or dugouts, let alone tents (unless they are camping for pleasure).

I speak in metaphors and images, a lot. That's what I do, that's how I write. And I grew up as a hunter and fisherman. So... many of my metaphors and images are from the wilderness, forests.

You choose to see the negative, not the positive. That's not my fault... it is your problem.

You have a choice to see things, metaphors, ideas, in a positive... or in a negative... way...

I'm trying to give you good things, in a positive way. I'm a teacher... this is what I do. If you choose to be negative... that is you... not me.

The metaphors, symbols, and images I've written are common between American culture, and Russian culture... especially in the сказки. And in Native American culture. Many simularities.

I'm sad that you choose to see 'negative', instead of learning or seeing anything 'positive' that joins our cultures... (part of friendship).

Sharing a rabbit with you, when you are hungry... that is a very good gift... but you don't... won't... see the gift.

Thanks VM, but when I go to Russia I tend to stay away from hotels. In Petersburg I lived in the dorms at first then rented a flat. In Vladivostok I stayed at a friend's place, as well as in Moscow. In the Ukraine I lived with my girlfriend's family in several villages. A hotel with provided food catered to westerners isn't my cup of samogon. :wink:

But out of curiosity, where is your hotel(s)? Maybe I'll take a chance and check it out!

Да, недавно был на Украине и там снимали (то есть моя подруга снимала). Но я пока не получил видео от неё, так что пока не делал ничего. Но будет, будет :)

Yeah, it does give that impression. But then again, all articles give impressions that are not true, because you can never capture truth. Truth is in the eye of the beholder. But if the article is based on statistical facts, well then it is hard to argue with facts... I am sure Russian articles about USA are just as impressionable :)

as they are in south africa .....i we have the highest violent crime rate in the world that still doesnt mean everyone is dying or that u will get mugged if u go on a holiday but statistically if u stay there for 10 years you will encounter your fair share of crime if not your own then someone elses. Does not make it a bad country. AIDS is very bad here too but doesnt mean that everyone will get it it just means that we had to change our views and become more realistic to the way our society has changed. We also faced a makeover with the fall of apartheid we suddenly had loads more problems than we ever had before economically we almost collapsed , however things are changing we may only see the results in the next 50 years by that time all the old apartheid thinkers will be dead or dying and we will have other things to think about :) I never used to even think we were a 3rd world country till I came to stay in the UK things are not perfect here either even when everyone has everything you get other problems like human rights laws , benefit fraud , people are scared of youngsters 12 to 14yr old because the law is on their side ....u cant even harm a burglar in your own home because its against the law. So at the end of the day stats are stats and people are people and we all do what we can. Russia is facing change its got lots of clever hardworking people I am sure everyone will get there in the end. Corruption in governments is everywhere people only get better at hiding it hahaha :) like the old Apartheid politicians they just took 50yrs to be caught but they were no less corrupt than their current counterparts only a balance needs to be reached. At the end of the day u do what u can the best u can do it,
