    Lord of War

Have you guys seen this movie, Lord of War? Nicholas Cage plays Yuri Orlov, a American born Ukranian armsdealer...

I thought it was pretty crappy, but it was hilarious listening to Nicholas Cage speak Russian... Said to a Russian waitress: "Приходи ко мне вечером, я покажу тебе свою "пушку" " with the most american accent you can imagine!

Neither have I. Does anybody know the Russian name for the movie? Probably, it'll help me remember whether I've ever heard of this movie.

Apparently, they titled it "Оружейный барон". I'd never heard of it before, either.

Well it is playing in the theatres as we speak, so it is pretty new. Fantom, you should at least be able to see it, you live so close to Hollywood!

But I guess the rest of the world will have to wait...

I agree, the movie was pretty bad. Not at all what I expected, almost no action...

The rest of the world very often has to wait. It's such a shame! If you only knew!
I'd advise you to watch the movie of '9 Рота'. I've no idea how you can see it because: first, it's Russian, second, it's new. I liked this movie very much

Как сказать "фуфло" по-английски? Is it like "fluff"?

Also, how do you say "Is it like...?" in Russian?

    Thanks,

фуфло is something that you don't like. Fluff, as far as I know, is something that you find pretty entertaining but not serious or important.
    -That film was pure fluff.
I don't know how you can translate fluff into Russian. Can't think of the right word now

Фуфло is synonymous with фигня. I don't know how you can say this in English. You can probably translate it as follows:
    This film bombed!

Is it like..? Depends on the context. In your example, I'd translate it as follows: Что-то типа fluff?

Aah, I see now. I looked up фигня, and it said "Chicken-feed". We use that expression also, although it's not very common anymore.

As for the other, спасибо за ответ!

Yes, it would. The problem is that fluff has a number of meanings in English, therefore there are a number of ways to translate it from English to Russian. Fantom as far as I can see wanted to know if fluff was the right word to say фуфло. The meaning of fluff was as follows: something that you find pretty entertaining but not serious or important . Пушок does not mean this. It's like floss, plume, lanugo... Do you get what I mean? Пушок is rather a rare word.
