If you mold 2 in 1 you'll have more problems and questions, than you have now. One of them is that the new universal passport needs to be updated much more frequently for a number of reasons (no room for new viza stamps, new photos, etc.), and if you don't travel much, it's a pain in the *ss. The current inner passport, on ther other hand, needs to be updated only a couple of times in your lifetime (new photos, when you're 25 and 45 y/o).
