    35-40 degrees in Moscow... ?

Just heard on the news that you are having another crazy summer!
It's so much harder without A/C isn't it!
    What's the temperature indoors?

Apparently some areas of the US are really hot too... But as I understand it, everyone has A/C there, so I guess all you need to do is stay indoors.

Yes, it's very hot, but at least there is (still) no smoke this time. The idea of installing an AC for using it only two weeks a year seemed quite stupid to me some years ago, but now when the summers are getting hotter and hotter every year I'm starting to think otherwise.
Please, correct my mistakes, except for the cases I misspell something on purpose!

I like this time (summer, hot, sun) in Moscow. This is great! I don't think about AC in my flat, I have AC only in my car, but use this not often.
It's very interesting = +35 now and -30 in winter we are lucky!

Yes. I like vine ripe tomatoes better than the store bought ones. It was so hot, it did some damage to some of the plants.

I like to cook with tomatoes, like sauces and such, not to eat them raw, however.... just looking at your photos makes me think about changing my mind!!! Nice job... do you grow other produce?

I'm afraid to eat store bought vegetables raw. Don't know what has been sprayed on them. Growing them myself, then I know they are ok. I'm growing some other things, grape vines, strawbs, herbs &c. Grapes are another thing that get sprayed lots. So I don't eat store bought grapes.

The real difficulty with high summer heat is baking! But I need my fresh daily...

Hotter than Brazil???!! Or a different kind of heat? (how?)

@Seraph -- your bread looks delicious! Just perfect. I love making bread too. It's just so relaxing and so satisfying.

As for vegetables: that is another story. I just hope the situation with pesticides isn't as bad as people say because I usually don't even wash the vegetables I buy in the shop... I try to buy organic though.

My ideal lifestyle would be to grow my own vegetables and store them in a cold cellar in the winter, like my grandparents did.

I can't recall where you are located. That looks great! Balsamic Vinegar, a little Olive Oil, Sea Salt and Black Pepper... Yummmm or some nice Pesto (especially if you've grown the basil!) to dip it in... even better! Can you post the recipe in the Cooking thread?

We've had those temps in AZ, but we always get them. Seems too hot for Russia, to me.

And if it's any consellation, I have a great AC machine, but I can't afford to run it during this time at all.

Looks like our summer, about the same in São Paulo. In Rio de Janeiro or the northeast is hotter. But now we have winter in Brazil, and I came all the way back to summer again ahahahaha.

There's a difference between Brazil and Russia. The sun here in Moscow doesn't burn me, I don't get tained. I wander a lot around Moscow without sunscreen, and my skin color stills the same. If I do that for 1 summer (or any hot) day in Brazil, I'd get really black. I don't know, maybe we're closer to the sun, maybe our Ozone layer is weaker...=P

Nice tomatoes Seraph! I planted mine late so none are ripe yet.

kidkboom: "We've had those temps in AZ, but we always get them." But it's a dry heat.

Nice and hot on the mainland (Boston) so everyone is coming to the beach. Motel was sold out all of July and close to sold out for August. A/C in the rooms and lobby but a nice sea breeze today. 77°/25c water, the pool is warmer. Tough day at work checking the ocean temperature. No sharks. (no kidding, I get paid for this information)
I'm easily amused late at night...
