Because it only takes me 3 seconds to rattle off something meaningful in English, whereas I'm lucky if I can get some sort of meaning in Russian at all.

я согласен, когда спешишь, легче писать на своем родном языке. И будет понятнее больше людей, потому что если они тоже спешат, не будут читать русские посты... элементарно!

Хотя трудно писать на русском, чем больше практикую, тем раньше доведу мой русский до совершенства! (скорее всего, никогда не достигну такого высокого уровня)

Come on, it's hard only in the beginning, the more you post the less time it takes.

kalinka, you're right but you forgot one thing it's masterrussian forum, it's about Russian not about quantum mechanics and people are supposed to understand Russian in any way. And no worries, we can understand your broken Russian :)

TATY, as for you, you seems pretty good in theory and what's the point to know but not to use it?

Learning from (what's her name?) Gerty's experience (does anyone remember who that is?), she told me once that writing down just one post in English would at first take an hour or two. Half a year later you couldn't shut her up. It's a matter of picking up a toolbox of phrases and expressions that come out automatically, and then you only stop to think of one word or two to convey the precise meaning.

That should be "seldomly", but I'd put "rarely".

The Russians are right that such members as kalinka, TATY, basusero, Blackmage and others, should speak more Russian. When I was in Toronto, my English teacher said to the class once - The best way to practice your English is speak it. I totally agree with him! This forum provides you with the great chance to practice your Russian. Don't be afraid of your errors. Ultimately, we aren't afraid of our mistakes in English. I don't think that there's a single Russian on the forum who speaks excellent English. We all sometimes make mistakes.

As for Dimitri's huge number of posts in such a short period of time, it, imo, doesn't amount to a great deal if he posts the way someone's already mentioned. I mean that he posts a few replies when it's possible to post just one.
