    put things into perspective

Unfortunately earlier in the week a 80lb Db was dropped on my foot at work and broke my pinky toe (the gigantic boot makes it look way more dramatic lol) Definitely spent the first day or two just hoping it was a bad dream but I'm extremely fortunate that it wasn't worse and that I have my health and amazing family and friends to help me out. The whole thing really put things into perspective it reminded me to never take any workout for granted, even the shitty ones and theres lots I can work on while my toe fully heals, especially my weaknesses. So here's to a few weeks of lots of upper body work, gymnastics, and swimming!

This complexity makes me really confused, I wonder what does she mean?

1.put things into perspective = ? or should it be considered as a part of the following "it remined me"?

    2. to never take any workout for granted = ??

This awkward moment, when google translate and years of own language experience are useless.

To put things into perspective is sort of complex. A perspective is a point of view, or a way of thinking. Its usually a personal thing specific to each person. To put into perspective is like, looking at the grand perspective. "To look at the big picture". Like "missing the forest for the trees." Youre to focused on a small part of something bigger. Putting into perspective would be realizing this and thinking about all the things you were missing.
Never take any workout for granted is phrased strange. I don't know if the "workout" part is part of the story or what(edit: yep...). Anyway the standard phrase is "to take for granted" which means to to take something or experience something and not truly know or appreciate the real meaning or benefit of it. A Kid might take for granted that they have a wealthy family because they dont know what its like to be poor, if their family lost all its money, that would put things into perspective for the kid.

put things into perspective - открыть глаза на..., заставить взглянуть с другой стороны
take for granted (here) = to underestimate/neglect something (пренебрегать)
Another month ends. All targets met. All systems working. All customers satisfied. All staff eagerly enthusiastic. All pigs fed and ready to fly.

Just out of curiosity... what is Db?

Google suggest that Db = the chemical element dubnium ???

Look at this sentence: "Definitely spent the first day or two just hoping it was a bad dream but I'm *extremely fortunate that it wasn't worse and that I have my health* and amazing family and friends to help me out.'
So, she simply means, the ordeal put things 'in perspective' - it was a minor injury compared to what can happen in a gym, theoretically. 'never take any workout for granted' - she probably means that she used to assume any workout would be uneventful, working on the planned muscle groups and then finish, change and go home. Her perspective is that it could have been worse, the injury could have prevented her from visiting the gym for a period of time. At least, she can continue albeit on other muscle groups.

    'Hope that helps.
