One of the local high schools has started a Scribd account to help the students and parents with college entrance exams and getting into college. There are almost a 100 documents on the site now and a number of them about English:

- Word Lists / Vocabulary: SAT, ACT, HSA, Accuplacer: Learning vocabulary is an important part of any SAT preparation strategy. In the Critical Reading section, sentence completion questions directly test your vocabulary. Here you need to know the meaning of the presented words in order to identify which correctly fills in the blank of a sentence. Such questions make up a significant chunk (around 28%) of your raw Critical Reading score. In this collection, you will find Word Lists to help you improve your vocabulary.

Both the HSA (Maryland) and TAKS (Texas) are state exams high school students must take and pass to graduate.
