Latin transcription in this post is TERRIBLE. I mean "Chem. Bui khichite sebodnya janimaetsa?" and so on.
And who is "Dear sir"?
Why?[/quote]
I would like to ask why "now" does sound good at the end of sentences in English.
Well, as for your question, the word order in the sentence is not quite natural, and...
Ну прям обязателен восклицательный знак?
До встречи.
До завтра.
До следующего урока.
Как я тебя понимаю.... :D
ko-yeh-shtah or ko-yeh-shtoh
I don't need these lessons, I am Russian native speaker.
"Пообедать" is pronounced pah-ah-b-yeh-dat'
"С кем" is pronounced sk-yem
"С вами" is pronounced svahmee

Я тоже хотела так исправить, но Grogs ведь хочет записать то, что говорят на этих дисках Pimsleur, а мы уже привыкли, что диалоги там дурацкие :)
И так... = and so...
Итак = thus, so; so then; well
А: Здравствуйте, Лена. Что вы делаете?
Ах, ну_ надо же!
You know, I don't understand, how could Russians, whose voices are used in Pimsleur, say all that odd sentences and make all those mistakes... :? I think they spoke at gun point!
I don't think "А почему ты спрашиваешь" is better then "А что?". I'd say "А что?"
"А почему ты спрашиваешь" is just more formal, more polite.
"А что?" is more colloquial.
...и поэтому...
You asking me? I don't have Pimsleur :)
If so, it's hardly "Вы к чему" he says. It can be "Ты к чему?", but it sounds here a bit odd too.
No, no, "почему" is wrong here. No one says so in such situation.
It should be just "А что?", but not "Почему" at all.
Yes, the English speakers say so, i.e.:
- Do you like coffee?
- Yes, I...
А: А сегодня_ что вы собираетесь делать?
Сегодня_ мы с вами можем поужинать вместе? – Today, can you and I have dinner together?
Когда мы можем уехать? – When can we leave?
"Несколько" is like a numeral >5: all nouns after it are put into the genitive (pl):
несколько знакомых (несколько is in NOM.)
несколько дней (несколько is in NOM.)
If the case is accusative...
"Я собираюсь немного работать" - русский так никогда не скажет. Только "немного поработать".
Sounds very unnatural for me.
"Чем бы Вы хотели там заняться?", "Чем думаете там заняться?" is much better.
Or just "Что Вы будете там делать?" is much better too.
What is "высидеть" here?? ...
Магазин открытый is grammatically correct, but we use the short form (see below) of the adjective in this case.
No, not at all!
Yes, that's right. But Russian adjectives are used in two...
А: Вы знаете, как лучше проехать в Москву отсюда?
Вы ничего не можете купить в Москве сейчас.
The sentense has a very odd word order.
It should be Вы сейчас ничего не сможете купить в Москве....
Я сама машину не вожу, но мне кажется, что так не говорят.
Можно сказать "я бы хотел заправиться" / "я хочу заправиться".
И "дайте мне бензина", по-моему, тоже плохо звучит. Обычно говорят...
It sounds a bit strange. It's absolutely normal to ask "Как мне проехать в аптеку?" or "Как мне проехать в такой-то переулок?"
But I think one should ask most likely "Как мне доехать до...
Б: Девочка уже большая, а наши мальчики ещё маленькие.
Этого достаточно на шестьдесят километров. – That’s enough for sixty kilometers.
Да, я понимаю. Если меня зовут John, я не хочу зваться Иваном. Но я этого не_ писал. Я просто записал, что она сказала. Она сказала "Михаил", а не Майкл, поэтому я написал "Михаил".
