Так... Меня зовут Волк (за правду Лука, но «Vuk» значит «Волк» на хорватский), и я изучаю русский язык =)
But my Russian is bad, so I will continue in English =(
I decided to learn Russian several years ago when I had the chance to take a free starter course which taught me how to read/write and use some basic words and phrases. Since then I have continued learning on my own, albeit at a very slow pace and with periods of complete inactivity here and there. Currently I am learning every day, mostly thanks to Duolingo which I am using on my phone and computer. It seems to keep me motivated well enough, and I've had streaks of up to 40 days in a row (right now I am on a 22 day streak). Because of how long I have been studying Russian (years, technically) but how bad I still am at it, I have decided to put in more effort. So I am trying to expand and watch more Russian movies, listen to music, seek help from places like masterrussian, and such.
I am from Croatia which is a small country, and except for taking a paid course in a private school there are no good ways to learn Russian here. Luckily English has been my second language since as far as I can remember, and I am more than fluent enough to use it to learn another foreign language - even though it's kind of ironic to be a native speaker of a Slavic language and be learning another Slavic language through English... Lol. Now, even though being Croatian has made learning Russian a lot easier for me in comparison to an English-speaking person, it is still quite difficult. I am embarrassed at how slow I am and how hard I find it to make progress. I'm not sure if anything will ever become of me, but I am going to keep trying for now. I dunno why. I just want to. I like Russia. I like the Russian language. I like its books and movies. I don't need special reasons why. I just want to.
I hope to find help with my studies here, and maybe make a couple of friendships. Это всё.
*woof*
