Hello! My name is Vidar I'm 20 years old and currently live in Sweden. One day i hope to work and live in Russia.
I am currently trying to learn Russia with the help of; The New Penguin Russian Course A Complete Course for Beginners - book. I find it quite easy, at least with the alphabet and some words.
I've noticed that many words are the same as in Swedish, Kassa, Karta are some examples i can remember right now. Same goes with the letters pronunciation. I think knowing Swedish language is a great help when learning to pronounce Russian letters, we already have the oo-(å) ee-(ä) sounds in sweden and more.
Anyway, I'm glad i found this community, gives me more motivation to learn Russian.
Have a good day!
Vidar, out!
