Privjet from Scotland! :)

Hello everyone,

For two days I have been learning the Russian language and I am loving it so far as it is so much more interesting than French and Spanish, which I do at school.

I have started by learning the alphabet which I am finding fun and very interesting due to the difference between Russian and English :)

So just to introduce myself I am 17 and I am from Glasgow in Scotland and I will be learning Russian for the foreseeable future.

17 years old is an excellent age to start learning the language.
Don't even try to compare Russian with French and Spanish. These languages are oversimplified in comparison with Russian.
Advice 1: Study every single day if you want to learn the language.
Advice 2: If you want to learn Russian for professional reasons, it will not be fun at all.

Do you think that learning the alphabet should be the first step when learning? I have been doing that and finding it good fun and a real challenge:)

I think Russian is so much more interesting than the other languages I have studied in the past so I will keep going with it for a long time I think!
