London UK - author seeks advice on Russian culture/ reader for book

    Hi,
I am a published author of women's fiction/romance novels in London UK. My new book which will be published in September 2018 has as a main character a 38-year old Russian pianist who has been living in the UK since 2000, and before that in Russia. He also has various Russian friends/family members.

I have already got some very helpful advice on names, etc from this forum. It would be nice to meet up with someone in London who was interested in my project and giving some advice on the Russian cultural references, etc to make the book more authentic, avoid cliches, etc. There would be an attribution/acknowledgement for this, and possibly some payment, to be discussed. It wouldn't require a great deal of time, but would require someone to read the book.

Thanks for your help, and whether I find someone or not, I'm sure I will have a number of questions for the forum.

    All best,
    Calandra

First of all do not "buy “ (or believe) the movie Red Sparrow. Russian ladies are the most decent ladies in the world. Come to think of it, how can they evade the strict discipline of their Christian mothers. Russian ladies were raised to be non-conformists to what you call, 'flesh of the world'. It would be very very rare to find a smoking Russian lady. Look at singles website. All are non-smokers and non-drinkers. All!! The movie Red Sparrow is a libelous depiction of morally upright Russian ladies. If a criminal complaint is lodged at ICC, I am sure the movie producers would be fined hundreds of millions.

Some Poles find this judgmental and rude when the object of my amorous desire is a smoking Pole because I am also a smoker. Ignorance is hard to suppress especially these days. They alienate me from the smoking Pole through libelous advertisements at CHUM-FM...("cutie."). Either that I have not given attention to them or unrequited love. I am a smoker. You are not.

"Your body belongs to the state..."- according to the figment of imagination of an American movie maker. Not even during the time of NVKD was this a policy. Josef Stalin flirted with the wives of the commissars but he did not coerce them to sleep with him. Sexual harassment was a taboo during the olden times. Putin too is known to be a gentleman. Wait until the lady approaches you. Do not chase a woman with unwanted attention.
