Hi, I'm a 42 year old nurse from the UK. I have been fascinated with Russia and the language since I was about 14. I would love to visit one day. I am starting to teach myself the alphabet and some simple words and hope to improve and move on to phrases My brain isn't as good as it used to be, but hopefully I'll be able to make some progress. I love the language and the way it looks and sounds. It's a huge challenge for me to be learning something like this.
I am married with two boys and I love music, the countryside, animals and history. My husband has reluctantly agreed that we can visit Russia one day and I'm having fun confusing him with my newly learnt words
I have virtually no knowledge of pronounciation and no understanding at all of Russian grammer, so my quest can only become more difficult. Any pointers would be gratefully received. I would hope to begin to communicate with a penpal at some point in the future.
Onward and upward.
