Hi, I am Hans, wanting to learn Ukrainian and improve my Russian a bit. After a few months I will go to Ukraine. It is an organized trip, so there must be at least one other person who is interested. If there isn't, I will go to Ukraine in April or in the summer next year. The cities I want to visit are Kiev, Lviv. Simferopol and Odessa.

I have good memories about the Russian language. In 2012 I have been in Sint-Petersburg. I am a real fan of the Cyrillic alphabet (and I wish my language - Dutch - were in Cyrillic, but unfortunately, it is not), so I bought a map on which the names of places, roads, streets, nearby cities and the like are totally in Cyrillic. I read it fast. I may also want to go to Moscow once.

My knowledge of Ukrainian and Russian is basic, but I think that my Ukrainian is slightly better than Russian. I think I can learn a lot from this forum besides from other sources.

I can write sentences like: Я хочу вивчати українську мову. (I want to learn Ukrainian) and social talk like: Як справи? Дуже добре! (How are things going. Very well!)

Oops I didn't realize that! Of course I meant Saint-Petersburg. Санкт-Петербург.

By the way, it is easier for me type Cyrillic on my iPad than on my computer, because it is easier to switch the keyboard.

Да, обычно, если не имеют в виду мужской половой орган, когда говорят член, всегда ожидается продолжение: член чего? "Член — лицо, входящее в состав какой-либо организации". Например, член общества, член правительства, член партии, член коллектива, член строительной бригады.
