    Здравствуйте

Здравствуйте. Меня зовут "Пиди" (PD или Pidí). Я говорю по-английски свободна, по-испански неплохо, и по-русски немного.

Hi and welcome! One little advice. Er.. sorry, but "Пиди" doesn't sounds well in Russian. I really recommend you to use some other form of your name when you introduce yourself in Russian.
Please, correct my mistakes, except for the cases I misspell something on purpose!

what does "пиди" mean in Russian that's so bad?

also you could always use "пэдэ" if there's something wrong with "пиди"

It's rather close to the Russian word for "fag".

Why not? If you accent second "и" that doesn't sound that bad.
On the other hand in Russia abbreviated names are not in use.

    Hi, PD.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with your name. Russians are easily accustomed to any foreign names. Almost every one who have ever listened to a music radio or watched TV in Russia knows a guy named P. Diddy (Puff Daddy). In Russian this name is pronounced in the same way as yours. Absolutely nobody will relate this name to anything rude or offensive.

I keep hearing that my name is close to some curse word (apparently more than one), but my teacher says my name is fine and not uncomfortably close to anything profane. I could go by Робэрт, but I'm accustomed to answering to "PD" or "Pidí".

It stands for "Pillsbury Doughboy", by the way.

Maybe if I spelt it "Пидий"?

PD, "Пидий" is kind of some Roman name, you know "PD" is good. "Robert" is written as "Роберт", not "э" by the way.

I think your name sounds closely to a term of abuse "Пидираст". It's a kind of slang word and can be approximated to word "Пидор" which means - gay man

Ругательство "Пидираст" имеет множество форм написания, и/е на второй позиции, и/о/е на четвертой и с/ст/з на конце. В оригинале медицинский термин "педераст".
