I can't figure out how to use google to find lyrics. If I type lyrics or the russian equivalent in the google search box and a song name, it will be full of sites to download the song, but I am unable to find lyrics.

Sometimes I use masteroff.org
Although it's generally better to put "тексты песен" followed by the artist's name in the search protocol and you'll get a range of options. If you're looking for a song in particular, and you know the title of it, put "текст песни" followed by the song name and the artist's name.
Good luck.
wow, cool there are even English translations side by side on the songs. Listening to Russian music has definitely improved my Russian without having to do any work :D but sometimes I get curious what a word means, especially when I hear it many times... so these sites and search tips will help, thanks.Quote:

Yeah, I'm constantly exposed to Russian via music - that's my primary exposure, in fact.
I listen to one or two Ukrainian songs myself, but not many. It shouldn't pervert your ability in Russian at all - but the better you get at Russian, the more you'll realize that Ukrainian truly is a different animal. Don't expect Ukrainian to contribute much of anything to your comprehension of Russian.
I use karaoke.ru a lot
try Valeriy Валерий Меладзе. Алла Пугачёва, Кристина Орвакайте, Валерия
Most of the download sites also have the text or link to it. :) I always use google to find the lyrics to a song because I haven't seen any specific site which has all the lyrics I'd like to have.
