Is that close? If it is, we can send our letters to the orphanage.

This source says there are 7 schools of this type in Vladivostok (there is a map there that shows their locations, but the page is in Russian). Unfortunately there is no school number, name or adress mentioned at the sign wich picture you have posted above.

Thank you so much. I translated the website with the Google Page Translator. Having the search down to seven orphanages/ children's homes is practically a miracle. I don't think I posted it on this board- but my boyfriend was born in Vladivostok and went into an orphanage... and then another. He was adopted to the USA when he was about ten years old (eleven years ago) and in not using it, he forgot most of his mother tongue. We're trying to locate his birth father and/or brother and sister.

And thanks for giving the text on the sign! I'm teaching myself the Russian alphabet, and although I'm getting the hang of it, I think the font and the fading on the photograph that I scanned was a slight setback.
