    Молдавский это румынский.

"Характерной чертой румынского языка является отсутствие диалектов. Наречия Мунтении, Молдовы, Марамуреша, Баната и Трансильвании почти не различаются, за исключением малого числа регионализмов."

Dimitry, что значит "много русских слов, вроде"? Не больше чем в английском. Зайди на сайт правительства Молдовы - http://www.moldova.md/ и убедись сам.

In the Soviet Times they used to write Moldovan in Cyrillic didn't they? It is just a dialect of Romanian though. A Romanian friend told me it's even closer to Romanian than BrEng is to AmEng.

You made me remember those funny phrases "аж ахуй" and "702 килогpам ногохуйц" which were popular several years ago. They were found on one Moldova news site.

Those interested in Romanian language may find this collection of links useful: http://swamper.nm.ru/romana/index_en.html
    (Russian version: http://swamper.nm.ru/romana/)

Now about the “Romanian or Moldovan” issue.

The literary language is one, but it has two names: in Romania it’s Romanian, while in Republic of Moldova it is officially named Moldovan (though the subject in Moldovan schools is named “Romanian language”).

The spoken language has regional varieties – some call them dialects, however Romanians insist they are not dialects but accents (graiuri, говоры). One of them is Moldovan (or Moldavian), spoken mainly on the territory of the once existed Principality of Moldavia (includes parts of modern Romania, Rep. of Moldova and Ukraine).

In Rep. of Moldova the well-educated class speaks pretty decent “standard” Romanian language, but the majority of “plain folk” in everyday life speak what can be described as Moldovan dialect saturated with Russian loanwords and expressions (similar “mixed” languages exist in other former Soviet territories - Surzhik in Ukraine, Trasyanka in Belarus).

NB: In Rep. of Moldova there’s also a large number of native Russian-speakers, most of them don’t speak Romanian in any form, be it standard or regional.

No, Lampada, it's not Romanian... For me it sounds like some Slavic language - Serbian maybe…

Here is a song in Romanian (or Moldovan, if you wish ) - “Bună dimineaţa” by Moldovan ethno-rock band “Zdob şi Zdub”: http://www.zvuki.ru/S/P/65554

Direct link to the MP3 file: http://dl.zvuki.ru/2/3522/mp3/12.mp3 or ftp://dl.zvuki.ru/2/3522/mp3/12.mp3

That song is in Croatian. It's Moja štikla (My Stilleto), this year's Eurovision entry.

Yes. Although the Zdob şi Zdub represented Moldova at Eurovision last year.

Arsenie from O-Zone is representing Moldova this year, with some girl. The song is rubbish though.

"Hey loca, give me your boca" Or something.
