Thread: my pimsleur cds seem to be off?

there is a few words in my cd that nobody kuses or something that I talk with(ill try to sound)

hat sil li bubu
would like

sto nee boodt
something

se-bed-rious
going

My pronouncuation is terrible on these words so i use hatchu for want and ediu for going
or five they say paet and my friend says pyat
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
and like they have you say "what do you want to do"

and is sounds like

schto bubu hotsilla dzilets

sorry Im trying to come close to the sounds
are these correct? or what do these really mean?

собираюсь = I am intending/going/planning to do something
This word can also mean "to get ready" as in "I am getting ready for my trip, I am packing my clothes"
I am sure there are many other meanings.

The idea behind Dr. Pimsleur's method is not having any grammar or spelling. Just plain listening. Well, it doesn't seem to work in this case

I think it does work to be honest. Sure you might not be able to write anything, but I reckon you could get by in a language.

As for 'its what the CIA use' well, um...I think not! lol

Put it this way - They are certainly not worth the money!!! If you happen to 'obtain' a copy free, then its pretty good I guess.

Yup, some people are good with picking sounds out of foreign language, and some are not. In this case I guess a course with an accompanying book would be more beneficial.

I geuss I never hear those words very often, for going I usually hear "ediu"(I go?)
or "Ediom"(we go?)
how do you say you go?

maybe we could poast (if there isnt one) a ending for the words like
penimayu=yourself
penimayitsu=somebodyelse

I kinda take it that an ""EE"" ending means plural
like ruble and rublee, am I even close a good grammar websit and to be able to hear it would be nice to have.

I am probally going to have to take russian in colledge for a few years anyway.
