Could someone please say вход and выход

I'm strugling with the pronunciation of these two words - when spoken they seem to sound the same. If someone could help that would be great.

    Thanks

Ah, cheers for that. It sounds like the d sounds almost like a t - is this how is usually sounds? Cheers

Some consonants come in Voiced/Voiceless paris. A voiced consonants is pronounced with vibrating vocal chords, and a voicless without.

The pairs in Russian (and pretty much in English) are as follows:

    Voiced - Voiceless

    В - Ф
    Б - П
    Г - К
    Д - Т
    Ж - Ш
    З - С

A voiced consonant devoices if it is pronounced at the end of the word.

    Thus вход sounds like вхот
    Смирнов sounds like Смирноф
    Любовь sounds like Любофь

If a voiced consonant comes before a voiceless consonant, it also devoices:

    всё sounds like фсё

Similary, if a voiceless consonant come before a voiced consonant, it comes voiced:

    вокзал sounds like вогзал

There are more rules about devoicing but those are the basics.

Now you've explained it, it makes a lot more sense, thank you. It will still take me a while to figure it out, but at least now I have a guide to work from.

    Cheers

These recordings I think change people's voices. Or Rtyom really does sound like a serial killer. No offense Rtyom.
