Can I translate that phrase like "There are explanations for many words there"? :?
You don't have to use "there" two times. "There are" is quite enough to refer to a place.
I could be wrong but I actually think there is a need for those two 'theres' because if you just say 'There are explanations for many words' it isn't refering to a place, until you say something like 'At that place, there are explanations for many words'. 'There' doesn't always refer to a place. It can just mean 'There exists' without saying exists.
"There are explanations for many words there" sounds alright, but it sounds preferable to change it to the example I used above.
Unless I'm just making myself sound less like a native English speaker here...
I think волк is right. There can be another meaning of "thre is/are" which I omitted.
