Guys, could you suggest the best verb for "ordeals", please. What do you do with them - face them? have them? stand up? survive? pass?

Survive, endure, undergo -- all these work. It seems to me though that you don't use it this way so often. A lot of times you'll just hear people say "What an ordeal!" or "What an ordeal that was!" or on the other hand something like: "Yesterday's meeting -- THAT was an ordeal," "Establishing child custody can be a long and drawn out ordeal."

"problem + time"

Very simple and complete.

"Ordeal" = "serious problem... including time"

To go through the ordeal...
