"Pushkin Institute of the Russian Language"

Some of the sentences—in fact, most of them—could really use some commas.

    first-year students
It's a set expression. I don't know which language you have translated these sentences from, but for me 'the students of the first course' seems to be the calque from Russian.
And 'class' is American, as far as I know.

Please correct my mistakes if there are any.

    Correct. First-year students sounds better.

In American universities (and high schools) there is also the term 'freshman' (sing.) and 'freshmen' (pl) for first-year students. I believe that they occasionally use the term 'fresher' in Britain, but somebody from the UK could correct me there.

    First year=Freshman
Second year=Sophomore (the second 'o' is not pronounced)
    Third year=Junior
    Fourth year=Senior

Institute of Russian named after Pushkin --> Pushkin Russian Language Institute (someone beat me to it!)
    techniques--> technology
Great Patriotic War --> World War II, or the Second World War.

You may mean something else but the straightforward answer is:
    postgraduate
    adjective
    U.K. education
    Same as graduate

noun . . . student with bachelor's degree: somebody who has graduated from a university or college with a bachelor's degree, especially one who is studying for a higher degree
    Encarta(R) World English Dictionary [North American Edition] (2007) http://encarta.msn.com/dictionary_18617 ... duate.html
    postgrad
    noun . . . ( informal ) Same as postgraduate

    adjective . . . Same as graduate

Yes, sometimes students study for 5 or 6 years or longer. That doesn't necessarily mean that they are postgraduates.
