Please help with a business letter

How to start a message if I write to a firm or company, not to a person. В духе "уважаемая редакция" писать не хочется

    re:

You should start a business letter with a greeting such as "To Whom it May Concern:"

    For example...

    "To Whom it May Concern:

I am writing to you because....."

I'm not sure how to write it in Russian, I'm sorry, My native language is English, and I'm only just learning the great russian language.

Okay. I can give you some advice but I need more information. Don't give the correct details if they are personal but, at least, something similar. You will be writing for a purpose, you want to achieve something - what is the purpose of the letter? Would it be better to first find out the name of somebody that you should write to, rather than, 'To whom it may concern', which is perfect in some circumstances. You want to write in English but is the intended recipient likely to be a native English speaker? Is it an American or English company etc etc. Let us know more about the context and perhaps we can make some suggestions.

What's wrong with 'Dear Sir/Madam'? Covers the bases.
    А если отнять еще одну?

If all you want to do is 'cover the bases', it's perfect.

Thanks, people, I chose "To Whom it May Concern". After all, it's a German company that I'm writing to

I'd go with Dear Bitches, but that's my style.
Call to a hardware store: "I'm sure you know more about the caulk than I do...tell me...is there a taste to the caulk?".
