I've never heard of it. 'To look into smt' means to investigate it, but I can't think of a context where you'd want to investigate gum.
Is it likely that you heard 'some' as 'gum'?
Look into ГУМ? Otherwise it makes no sense to me either.
All right, guys. Never mind. Thank you for your guesswork, but it was just a context thing with no special meaning.
The only context in which this would make sense: telling someone that gum (or the gum industry) might be able to solve some sort of problem.
For anyone who is curious:
look into smth = investigate or study smth (ex. "you should look into this opportunity")
look into the smth = look at smth (ex. "look into the mirror")
