I remember one episode where her family came to visit, and their accents were all over the map, the worst was the one who had this horrible Australian-inflected Cockney accent. It shows that even professional actors aren't always good with accents.
I'm kind of disappointed to hear that Jane Horrocks exaggerates her accent. Listening to Bubble talk was always one of my favorite things about that show. It's still brilliant, but... I guess my Bubble has burst ;)
Jane Leeves was born in Ilford Essex and grew up in East Grinstead. You can also see her in Benny Hill and Monty Python. Her Mancs accent was spot on though. Agreed about Daphne's brother, Anthony LaPaglia had a terrible cockney/mancs/australian accent.
But the actor who played Frasiers dad really is from Manchester. Go figure!?
My bubble burst everytime she opened her mouth! Horrid woman, and thats just the actor!
