The sms intends for children's mother who I know well enough.
You can use what i've wrote above, just write твой instead of ваш but anyway it is a bit formal.
The more informal version - Мне жаль что у тебя заболел сын, пусть скорее поправляется!

"I'm sorry to hear about your son's illness, I hope he feels better soon," or slightly more informally, "Sorry to hear your son's not feeling well -- tell him to get well soon/I hope he gets well soon."
Usually we don't say "I feel sorry," but rather "I am sorry." The only time I can think you'd use the it really is if you said something like this:
-"Wow, Bob is an ugly guy."
-"Yeah, I feel sorry for him -- he probably doesn't get many dates."

"I feel sorry for your son" would mean you are apologising for it, i.e. you are to blame.
It doesn't sound like that to me. "I feel sorry ABOUT your son," maybe.Quote:
