That is a helluva word for any day. I just found it in my oxford dictionary.

Not exactly. It is a pyschological term that means a woman who is severely disturbed and is obsessed with sex. Like kleptomaniac with stealing, or pyromaniac with fire.

There is a difference here. Fire and stealing are both very destructive things, sex is not. Most of the time.

That's a rather insignificant difference considering it is still a legitimate medical illness. We aren't talking about a woman who likes to have sex a lot, we're talking about one who has an uncontrollable need for it because of serious mental problems. That is a nymphomaniac. The same with a klepto. It isn't someone who likes to steal things often, it's someone who has to steal things.

That's a dictionary definition. In practice, a nynphomanic is any woman who wants to have sex more often than you do. (If you are a man, at least).

If you are an avarage man in the appropriate age range, finding a woman like this is so rare that it needs a fancy name like "nymphomanic".
